Making Patients Smile While Creating Smiles
I love being able to connect with my patients: making them feel comfortable and keeping them smiling and laughing during visits. As an orthodontist, I’m given enough time with each patient to get to know him or her as a person. I enjoy hearing about their lives, celebrating their achievements, and watching each transform along with their smile. Giving someone a smile they love, one that improves their confidence and self-esteem, and knowing it will last a lifetime, is incredibly rewarding.
I’ve been a practicing orthodontist for almost 40 years. During that time I’ve met and developed wonderful relationships with so many people. It’s an honor to create great oral health and amazing smiles now for the children and even the grandchildren of some of my first patients!
I couldn’t be more proud of my team and the environment we’ve created. Each of them brings particular skills and passion to our office; together we offer the best care experience for our patients. You’ll hear us laughing and joking with patients and each other. We love what we do — helping people develop their best smiles and encouraging them to enjoy life.
Education and Continuing Education
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Tennessee Memphis
- Master of Science in orthodontics – St. Louis University
I’m amazed by the developments in orthodontics in the years since I started practicing. Right now is an exciting time to be working in this specialty: advances in technology and new techniques allow for more accurate diagnostics and treatment. They also deliver a more comfortable care experience and the most incredible finished smiles.
My patients and their families trust me to provide them with the best care and treatment options. In order to do so, I must stay current on changes in the field. By completing many hours of continuing education each year, through courses and attending conferences and lectures, I make certain I remain informed.

I’ve lived my entire life here in Knoxville, except when I went away to dental and orthodontic school. My lovely wife Debbie and I are approaching our 45th anniversary. We have three grown children who’ve given us six remarkable grandchildren.
When I’m not creating smiles, I enjoy staying fit through exercise and playing golf. Debbie and I love Charleston, SC, and like getting away to Kiawah Island for long weekends and summer vacations.
